With headquarters in Oslo and interviewers nationwide, Polling & Statistics is a fast-growing data collection provider in Norway. The acquisition was completed on 31 January and shows Norstat’s dedication to building the leading European data collection company. It is the 6th acquisition performed by Norstat over the last 8 months, following the acquisitions of Userneeds (DK), TestingTime (CH), CG Research and Respondenten (both NL), and DMA Research (DK). The integration of Polling & Statistics will enable Norstat to meet the underlying increase in demand for consumer data and data collection services in the Norwegian market.
When fully integrated, the two companies will be even better equipped to address the entire breadth of customer’s needs by leveraging Norstat’s high-quality data and operational efficiency, together with Polling & Statistic’s agile, fast and innovative delivery. As such, Norstat and Polling & Statistics constitute a strong match, with overlapping market and customer segments.
Quote from Erling Eriksen, CEO of Norstat:
We are pleased with the scale and growth opportunities the acquisition of Polling & Statistics brings. Norstat has successfully completed six acquisitions during the last eight months, and we are steadily becoming the European industry leader.
The acquisition of Polling & Statistics will add approximately 40 000 panelists to Norstat’s Norwegian consumer panel and strengthen Norstat’s overall panel capacity. Polling & Statistics will be fully integrated into Norstat Norway and Nina Kulås will be Managing Director for the combined company. Pål Listuen, founder and CEO of Polling & Statistics, will stay on and support in the post-merger integration work before assuming the role as Regional Director of Norstat’s Southern European countries.

It is with mixed feelings we part with our friends and colleagues in Polling & Statistics but merging our two favorite data collection suppliers seems to be a good idea to create the optimal partner within fieldwork, for the benefit of Opinion. Opinion will be able to invest heavily in other areas in our industry, to pursue our long-term vision of “building a bridge between what people say and what they do.
